How To Use Studio Flash?

High-speed synchronization (HSS) has been a great success in the past few years. As a relatively new technology, high-speed synchronization is largely limited to flash. Even so, the lack of electricity also makes a lot of people can not use it. Unless you have a bunch of batteries, you can not usually take pictures you want.

Recently HSS features have appeared on many new high-power studio flash lights, but what about your old studio flash? Are they completely useless now? of course not. In this video, Jay P. Morgan shows how to use the studio flash to get high-speed flash effects.

This trick is very simple if you have flash long duration longer than the old flash. As long as they can output the same power for the duration of your shutter speed, so on the line. But the flash is very short duration is unlikely to work, because such a flash will be too early to reach the peak of the flash, before the end of your exposure to the brightness down. Plug a compatible electronic flash into the flash shoe lock socket. This will make your camera take high-speed sync photos.

Morgan uses the Yongnuo RF-602 flash device. They have changed the design of the transmitter, but initially they are PC synchronous socket together. The only difference is that Morgan uses the synchronization between the camera body and the RF-602 ejector. Then he put an RF-602 receiver to connect to each studio flash.

But the result is the same. Morgan can now use his studio flash to shoot faster than sync. So the studio flash is also very reliable. Having said that, different camera subjects and studio flash will have different restrictions. So, everyone is better to use their own equipment to try where it does not work.
